The Saugatuck-Douglas Art
Club commissioned Patricia Daggett to create this bronze sculpture
to honor the art of puppetry and the memory of Burr Tillstrom,
famous puppeteer and part-time resident of Saugatuck.
In this sculpture, the little
girl has just discovered the thrill of making her hand-puppet
move. She represents the joy of puppetry for all ages.
Patricia Daggett studied sculpture
at the Kalamazoo Institute of Art; her first small bronze was
cast at the Ox-Box summer camp in Saugatuck many years ago. |
